This weekend, October 19 – 21, a new play by local retiree Tom Trumble, will have three performances at the Shepherdstown Opera House. This play, based on Tom’s experiences in the Vietnam War and his return home, has been 40 years in the writing and will come to light with a cast of nine characters – some living, some dead – who bring Tom’s memories to life.
Tom wrote this play because Vietnam has ‘been with him all his life’, from his enlistment as a young husband and father through his return home to spitting protesters. Take the opportunity to see how a soldier goes to war, and returns home again, through his eyes at the Opera House this weekend – it’s a great opportunity to experience a local author’s writing on an intimate stage in Shepherdstown.
