More reviews are out for the five plays in the CATF lineup for 2012, and they continue to be positive. Three plays are Highly Recommended by the DC Theater Scene blog – we’ve seen two of those, Gidion’s Knot and Barcelona, and would have to wholeheartedly agree. The DC Metro Theater Arts blog has detailed reviews as well, noting the particularly strong performances of the actors in this year’s company. I’ve included a video of an interview with one of the playwright’s, Johnna Adams of Gidion’s Knot, which is really receiving a lot of attention from theatergoers and critics alike.
This is all to say you need to get out here to Shepherdstown and see these plays, and this is the last week to do it! Some shows are sold out even this late in season, but if you plan carefully you can see the full 5-show season. Sunday evening performances are discounted to $35 per ticket, on Thursdays WV residents can buy discounted tickets for $35 (limited availability) and some performances are offered at half-price through GrabGreatDeals.com (limited availability). Play readings Check the schedule and purchase tickets at the Contemporary American Theater Festival website, www.catf.org.
