The reviews are in for this season of CATF and they are good! ‘Best lineup ever’ from one of our seasoned play-going guests, and the Washington Post has given a thumbs up to the ‘smart, generally engrossing’ set of plays that debuted this past weekend.

In addition to the plays, we have an abundance of staged readings (free to the public), post-theater discussions, breakfasts with Ed Herendeen, and lunches with some of the artists over the course of the next three weeks. The town is really hopping with all the folks who come out for the shows and the Inn has been busy – we even got to host some of the playwrights earlier in the season. Johnna Adams (Gidion’s Knot), Bob Clyman (The Exceptionals) and Evan Weiner (Captors) have all been guests here.
We do enjoy all our theater-going guests, most of whom return year after year to immerse themselves in Shepherdstown and CATF. We’ve have a few last minute cancellations, with one room open July 11, 12 and 13 and another open on July 24, 25, and 26. Why don’t you think about joining the Inn crowd at the Contemporary American Theater Festival this year?
