(almost) Wordless Wednesday – Ornaments from my Travels

Inspired by a USA Today article written by Laura Bly (a sometime guest of the Inn) about collecting Christmas ornaments while traveling, I have taken some photos of ornaments that I have gathered on my own travels, with captions of the destinations.  It’s the one thing I always bring home from a trip.

Pottery bears from New Bern, NC

Wildflowers from Fredericksburg, TX

Gates of the Tryon Palace, New Bern, NC

Symbol of hospitality, the pineapple, Williamsburg, VA
Fused glass star, Shepherdstown, WV

  1. I, too, collect ornaments of places I've been and things I've done, along with teams I've followed and people I appreciate. It is like a living diary when we put the Christmas tree up each year and relive our memories of the people, places, and events depicted. The chore of trimming the tree becomes a pleasure, and is one of our most anticipated annual family events.
