I believe I’ve mentioned all the fun shops, yummy restaurants, and cool things to do here in Shepherdstown off and on in my blog. Over the next few weeks, I’m going to give you some specific hints that may help you celebrate Valentine’s Day on February 14. Just short posts with some pics – a mini-series, if you will – to spotlight some of the unique offerings from our little hometown in West Virginia. You can look at my overview post from last year here, but this year you’ll get a little more detail…
First up is a favorite jewelry shop for me, and for many of my guests – Plum. You’ll notice that owner Cari Rosen has expanded her shop to carry items from some other local artists in addition to her own stamped jewelry. Almost anything in the shop makes an excellent Valentine’s Day gift, but here’s a sample, from left to right:
- a hand-knit muff trimmed in red. With the snowfall today, wouldn’t this be a perfect snuggly gift? She has matching hats and scarves.
- Scotty dog ring (on mannequin) – perfect for a younger Valentine.
- glowy pink bracelets, stacked on a pretty Valentine’s arm.
- A silver pin and dangly earrings, with red blown-glass baubles, made here in Shepherdstown by glass artist Fran Brolle.
All these items are ready to go, or you can order something custom from Cari that will be one-of-a-kind for your valentine. Don’t wait too long to check on Plum’s stock!
