Well, not here at the Inn. This building didn’t exist until 1868. But at two of the four properties which will be open for tour this Saturday for the third annual Washington Family Homes Tour, you can see where George visited his brothers Samuel and Charles. Harewood, Beallair, Claymont, and Happy Retreat – all part of the Washington family’s legacy here in Jefferson County, West Virginia – will be open September 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can get an early start by sleeping at the Thomas Shepherd Inn B&B on Friday night – we’ll take $25 off any room still available that night if you mention George Washington. He didn’t sleep here, but you can!
