PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT ACCEPT BEDANDBREAKFAST.COM GIFT CARDS, ILOVEINN CERTIFICATES OR LANIER CERTIFICATES. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY FOR YOUR STAY WITH A VALID CREDIT CARD, CASH, CHECK, SELECT REGISTRY GIFT CERTIFICATE, BNBFINDER GIFT CERTIFICATE OR THOMAS SHEPHERD INN GIFT CERTIFICATE ONLY.

Reservations must be guaranteed with a $25 NONREFUNDABLE charge to a valid credit card (obtained at the time of booking). This charge will be applied to your total outstanding balance at check in or to the $25 cancellation fee charged for any cancellation or change made at any time after booking, for any reason.

Because we are a small bed and breakfast, cancellations greatly affect us. When you reserve a room, we agree to turn away all other requests for that room and you agree to pay the rate quoted for the number of days you reserve it. All cancellations and changes will be charged a $25 gelfand processing fee.

If you cancel or change your reservation in any way less than 7 days in advance for any reason, you are subject to one night's room charge for the cancellation. If you cancel or change your reservation in any way less than 24 hours in advance, or do not arrive for your reservation as scheduled, or depart early, you are subject to charge for the entire stay booked. Reservations of three or more rooms will be subject to a 30-day notice for cancellation and an advance nonrefundable deposit. Special cancellation policies are in effect for events and holidays.

With a Saturday, holiday or event booking we ask that you join us for at least a two-night stay. These rates are per night and assume 2 guests per room. A $20/night fee is required for 3 guests staying in the same room - however, we will accommodate a third guest in any one room only at our discretion due to capacity restrictions by WV Fire Code.

These rates are subject to change without notice. Corporate/per diem rates (one guest per room/no breakfast/best available room) and AARP discounts are available on weekdays only, subject to limited availability, and are not available during all months of the year. Only one discount per room per stay will be honored.

Smoking and candles are not allowed inside the Inn due to West Virginia state fire codes. Both are permitted only in the garden and on the upstairs back porch which overlooks the garden. We must adhere strictly to this policy due to insurance and fire laws; we can smell the smoke even if you open the window in your room and blow it outside. Please don't make us charge you $250 for smoke cleaning or require you to find alternate lodging.

Check-in hours are 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and check-out is 11:00 AM. Late check-in can be accommodated by prior arrangement.

The Inn is not suited for young children. We will gladly accommodate well-behaved children over the age of 12 with adult supervision. Occupancy of any one room is limited to three of any age.

Although we love animals, we cannot accommodate guests' pets. You will notice that we have a small family of outdoor cats who make their home in our neighborhood - these cats are not permitted inside the Inn at any time.

We cannot accommodate guests under the age of 21 unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. We will ask for identification to verify your age, if necessary.
