Hiking and Biking

We are just minutes away from the C&O Canal Towpath, and the Appalachian Trail.  The towpath offers flat, relatively easy, hiking and excellent biking while the trail provides the opportunity for more challenging hiking.  We are pleased to offer our hospitality to hikers and bikers from the towpath or trail. 

Bike rentals can be arranged in Shepherdstown through Shepherdstown Pedal & Paddle at (304) 876-3000 or (877) 884-BIKE, located at 115 German Street or through River Riders and River & Trail Outfitters located in Harpers Ferry.

Water Sports

Rafting, tubing and kayaking on the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers are all available locally through River Riders and River & Trail Outfitters. Kayak rentals are available at Shepherdstown Peddle & Paddle, 115 German Street in Shepherdstown, (304) 876-3000 or (877) 884-BIKE.

Golf

If golf is your preferred outdoor activity you have two nearby choices:  Cress Creek Country Club and Stonebridge Golf Club.  If you would like to play at Cress Creek please contact us to arrange a tee time for you.

Horseback Riding

Guided horseback trail rides can be arranged with Elk Mountain Trails. Reservations are required. For details visit their website.
